Lake Cootharaba is Queensland’s largest natural lake with an area of 90 square kilometres. This pristine area protects the upper reaches of the Noosa River, the least developed and cleanest river in Southeast Queensland. During the warmer months, the lake is enjoyed by swimmers, sailing boats, windsurfers and families with young children as the majority of the lake is quite shallow (1.5 metres). Boreen Point is home to a sailing club, two shops and a pub providing all the infrastructure you need for a relaxing getaway. Boreen Point is also the main boat access point for the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park and canoes and powerboats regularly explore these areas and are available for hire.

Boreen Point is a very special place for its residents and holiday visitors. Hidden behind the sand swept cliffs of Noosa’s north shore and away from the hustle and bustle of Noosa, time slows down in Boreen Point and Mother Nature puts on a show.
